Cash book and cash balances

ئەم بابەتە هێشتا وەرنەگێڕدراوەتە سەر زمانەکەت، بۆیە وەشانە ئینگلیزییەکەی پیشان دەدرێت.

The cash book lists every movement in and out of your cash accounts, with opening balance, running balance and closing balance. The cash balances report shows how much is in each cash account on a date.

Open them from Accounting › Cash Book, or under Reports › Cash. They need the Cash Book permission.

Cash accounts are the Cash Ledger chosen in Ledger configuration (Cash by default) and every account you created under it, at any level (for example Cash - Shop, Cash - USD, Petty Cash).

Cash Book

  1. Choose the Cash Account (or All Cash Accounts), From Date and To Date.
  2. Optionally filter by Currency or Voucher Type (receipts, payments, vouchers...), or search by voucher, reference, account or narration.
  3. Click Refresh.

Each row shows the date, voucher, the other account, narration, In, Out and the running Balance, between an Opening Balance and a Closing Balance. Click a voucher number to open the receipt, payment, voucher, journal or other document it came from. Balances are hidden while a voucher type or search filter is applied, since they wouldn't add up.

Print, PDF and Excel export the book.

Cash Balances

Shows each cash account with its balance on the chosen date. Hide accounts with no balance or movement keeps the list short.

Foreign-currency cash

A cash account in a foreign currency (for example Cash - USD) is shown in its own currency, with the base currency value underneath; the total row and the last column are in the base currency. A line posted to it in another currency is flagged: "Posted in another currency: it changes the base value only."

Negative cash

With Negative Cash off in Preferences, payments, outcome vouchers, journals and journal adjustments, bank deposits, salary vouchers and advances that would take a cash account below zero are refused, and so are edits and deletes that take money that came in back out (receipts, income vouchers, bank withdrawals, journals, adjustments, opening balances). With it on, they ask you to confirm first. Turn it on only if you really allow that.
