Ledger configuration

Ledger configuration tells Zhmara X which accounts to post to for the standard parts of every transaction. It is set up for you with the standard chart of accounts; change it only if you want different accounts, for example a sub-account you created.

Go to Settings › Ledger Configuration.

The settings are split into tabs: Cash and bank, Customers and suppliers, Sales and stock, Equity and payroll and Fixed Assets. Click a tab at the top, or use Back and Next, to move between them. Each setting shows what it is used for next to its account.

Choose an account for each and click Save. Save keeps the accounts on every tab at once, so you can change several tabs and save once. Reset to default puts back the standard accounts on every tab.

It is an expense account, so a gain shows as a credit; it is closed into retained earnings at year end. Default: Exchange Gain or Loss
