Document and code numbering

ئەم بابەتە هێشتا وەرنەگێڕدراوەتە سەر زمانەکەت، بۆیە وەشانە ئینگلیزییەکەی پیشان دەدرێت.

Every document and record gets an automatic number when it is saved. You can change the prefix and suffix used for each kind.

Invoice Setting (document numbers)

Settings › Invoice Setting lists every Voucher Type (sales invoice, purchase bill, receipt, payment, credit note, debit note, quotation, stock adjustment, stock transfer, opening balance, bank transaction...) with its Prefix and Suffix. For example, sales invoices use the prefix SAI and purchase bills PUI.

To change one, edit the row, type the new prefix or suffix and Save.

Code Setting (record codes)

Settings › Code Setting does the same for the codes of records such as items, customers, suppliers, monthly employees (ME) and daily workers (DE).

Employee codes are optional: the Add Employee pages suggest the next code (for example ME/26/000001), which you can change. To type employee codes yourself, clear the prefix of Monthly Employee Code or Daily Employee Code; the code field then starts empty.

Rules

  • Each prefix/suffix combination can be used by only one voucher type (or one code type): "This Prefix/Suffix combination is already used by another voucher type."
  • Numbers look like SAI/26/000123: the prefix, the last two digits of the year, then the running number. The year is the year of the document's date, not the day you typed it in: a sales invoice dated 28 December 2025 and saved in January 2026 gets SAI/25/.... Record codes (items, customers, suppliers) use the year they were created.
  • A number is assigned when the document is saved and never changes when it is edited.
  • Numbers are unique per document type within your company, even when two people save at the same moment.

The S.No column shows the row order only.
