Variant attributes and service types

Variant attributes describe how a product varies (Color, Size...). Service types group the services you sell (Repair, Installation...). Both are lists you set up once and then use on items.

Variant attributes

Turn on Show Variants in Preferences first. Then go to Products / Services › Variant Attributes.

1. Click Add and enter the attribute name, for example Color or Size.
2. Add its values with Add Value: Red, Blue, Black or S, M, L, XL. A color value can also have a color swatch (or No color).
3. Save.

Rules:

• Each attribute name and each value can be added only once.
• A value already used by item variants can't be removed ("Value ... is used by product variants, so it cannot be removed.").
• An attribute in use can't be deleted.

To use the attributes, open an item, tick Variants (Color / Size) and click Create Variants. See Items and services.

Service types

Go to Products / Services › Service Types.

1. Click Add and enter the name, for example Repair or Installation.
2. Save.

On a service item, choose its Service Type and fill in Duration (minutes) and Service Description. A service type in use can't be deleted.
